Electrical Estimator

Role Description We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for electrical projects across commercial & industrial projects in the UK & Europe. This role involves analysing drawings, specifications, and tender documents, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure bids are both technically sound and commercially viable.
The role will be based in our Head Office in West Sussex (free parking is available on site).

Key Responsibilities:
· Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope and requirements.
· Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
· Conduct site visits when required to assess existing conditions and potential project risks.
· Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
· Develop tender proposals and bid submissions, including technical clarifications and value engineering options.
· Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the commercial team to ensure estimates align with project strategy and client expectations.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, market trends, and new technologies.
· Participate in post-tender negotiations and support handover to the delivery team once projects are awarded.
· Track and analyse project costs to improve future estimating accuracy.
Skills & Qualifications
SStrong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, and relevant UK regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
· Proficiency in estimating software (such as Trimble, Amtech, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
· Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
· High level of attention to detail and organisational ability.
· 3-years experience in the electrical contracting or construction industry
· Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, HNC/HND, or apprenticeship in Electrical Installation or Building Services (preferred but not required).
