40 Hours per week Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Participation in the on-call rota is required, providing escalation support on a 1-in-5-week basis.

About The Role

Dalkia are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Supervisor to join our team at the University of Lincoln. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical professional looking to take the next step in their career, combining hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities.

As Electrical Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical maintenance and project works across the University estate. You will oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, quotations, and billable works, while ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the electrical team to ensure high-quality service delivery across all maintenance and project activities.
  • Maintain and enforce quality standards for all electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance works.
  • Act as the NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor, inspecting electrical work and issuing certification as required.
  • Fulfil the role of Electrical Appointed Person, ensuring safe systems of work for high-risk electrical activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to electrical engineers and apprentices.
  • Prepare quotations and documentation for billable works.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to installations, inspections, testing, certification, and maintenance activities.
  • Liaise regularly with the client to ensure all planned and reactive works are completed in accordance with contractual requirements and with minimal disruption.
  • Monitor team productivity and performance, supporting development and continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs within the team and work with the Contract Manager to implement development plans.
  • Ensure all mandatory training and competency requirements remain up to date for direct reports.
  • Organise and motivate the team to achieve contractual KPIs and service excellence.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor status, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection, Testing and Certification qualification.
  • Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH, SSSTS, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience within an electrical engineering or maintenance environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience maintaining, testing, and installing electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage planned maintenance, reactive works, and project delivery.
  • Experience working within a university, education, or similar large-scale facilities environment.
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Appointed Person (training can be provided for the right candidate).
