Fellowship in Upper Limb Surgery

We are seeking to appoint a senior clinical fellow (post – CCT) offering exposure to upper limb surgery. This will offer experience and management of a wide spectrum of upper limb disorders including arthroscopic reconstruction, shoulder and elbow arthroplasty as well as acute upper limb trauma and post trauma reconstructive procedures. The Fellow will work with the upper limb consultants delivering patient care and offering support and training alongside the consultants to the junior doctors within the department.

This post is suitable for individuals who have obtained their certificate of completion of training (CCT) It is essential that applicants have passed the FRCS (Orth) exam, have at least six years experience at specialist trainee level in Trauma and Orthopaedics with at least 12 months experience in the subspecialty of shoulder and upper limb surgery.

The successful candidate will be encouraged to work closely with the current 6 Upper Limb Surgeons, and together with these surgeons provide comprehensive cover for Upper Limb Elective and Trauma conditions. The successful candidate will work primarily with Mr Wijeratna and Mr Jepson.

The department currently comprises 17 orthopaedic surgeons.

The post will have a fixed term tenure of 6 -12 months, the post is to start in August 2026
