Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer
Alexander Daniels Global is supporting a leading global AM OEM company actively looking for a Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer (FPGA Engineer). In addition to the hardware, the organisation provides software and support services that help customers optimise manufacturing workflows and achieve consistent, high‑quality output.
As an FPGA Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development, testing, and optimisation of FPGA-based electronic systems used within precision machinery and advanced capital equipment. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop solutions that push the boundaries of performance, accuracy, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop FPGA architectures for advanced electronic systems
- Create, test, and validate FPGA code for high-performance applications
- Support the integration of FPGA solutions with wider hardware and software platforms
- Debug and troubleshoot complex electronic systems
- Contribute to system performance improvements and product innovation
- Participate in design reviews, testing activities, and technical problem-solving
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers throughout the product development lifecycle
- Produce and maintain technical documentation to support development and manufacturing activities
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience developing FPGA solutions in a commercial engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of VHDL, Verilog, or similar hardware description languages
- Understanding of digital electronics and embedded systems
- Experience with FPGA test, verification, and debugging methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with precision instrumentation, industrial equipment, automation, or capital machinery
