Field Service Engineer – Northern Ireland

Overview of role:
Installation, Service, and support of Rapiscan X-RAY screening systems. This role will have primary responsibility for supporting all X-ray and Trace product lines of Rapiscan systems
- Working on Rapiscan’s Xray Screening Systems
- Installation, commissioning and service support of Rapiscan’s X-ray and Trace systems at our customer’s premises EMEA and International locations.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on-site at our customers’ premises in EMEA.
- Learn from the IT Specialists the Server setup and PLC engineers for integration and commissioning and become proficient.
- Carry out service site surveys prior to installations and professional site reports.
- Carries out all preventive and corrective maintenance works and attends all call-outs.
- Works on shifts pattern to support key customer site
- Provide remote technical support to Distributors engineers and customers.
- Work with all internal departments and externally with our customers and Distributors on service related matters and provide guidance when required.
- Makes sure to submit service reports and non-conformance reports as required without delay
- Give regular feedback to Engineering, Product Line Management and QA as part of our continuous improvement programme.
- Take part in other departmental ad-hoc duties when required including special projects.
Candidate Requirements
- A strong communication skill with excellent written and oral ability. Able to clearly articulate both the Product and Process to any Customer or Programme Stakeholder.
- Experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting MS Windows based servers and workstations highly desirable
- Knowledge of high-end X-ray systems or computed tomography a major advantage
- Experience programming PLC’s an advantage.
- Have excellent ability to trouble-shoot complex systems and logically work through problems.
- Must have experience in a field service engineer role.
- Flexible during times of change and reacts to project adjustments promptly and efficiently
- Willingness to travel within Ireland and surrounding areas.
- Must be self-motivated and work well under pressure.
- Strong aptitude to learn.
- Ability to obtain airport security passes essential (some require a Criminal Record check).
- An electrical Diploma with at least 4-5 years of field experience or a BSc Eng with 2-3 years of field experience
- Post graduate qualification in Electrical engineering desirable
- A recognised qualification in an IT (Microsoft, cisco etc) a plus
- A good general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, hydraulic, electronics or complex electro-mechanical equipment or systems. Or knowledge of HV Systems i.e. Medical or Industrial engineering discipline.
