The Role

We’re looking for a Finance & Treasury Analyst to join Zempler Bank an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their career who’s keen to build experience across both finance and treasury while studying towards their ACCA qualification.


This role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, treasury management, planning, and controls. You’ll work closely with teams across Finance, Risk and Compliance, helping to support accurate reporting, effective cash and liquidity management, and strong financial governance.


It’s a great opportunity to develop a well-rounded skillset within a growing financial services environment.


Hybrid working

We operate a hybrid working model, with an expectation for this role of 2 days per week in our London office.

This gives you the best of both worlds time to collaborate, learn from colleagues, and build relationships in person, alongside flexibility to work from home.

What you’ll be doing

This is a varied role where you’ll gain experience across both Treasury and Finance:


Treasury

  • Support Asset & Liability Management activities, including ALCO reporting
  • Assist in monitoring liquidity metrics and interest rate risk (IRRBB)
  • Track and report on liquid asset buffers and investments
  • Help produce daily and monthly treasury reports
  • Support treasury forecasting, planning and cash management activities
  • Contribute to reporting improvements and automation initiatives
  • Support development and use of the Treasury Management System (TMS)
  • Assist with maintaining treasury policies and procedures


Finance

  • Support month-end and year-end close (journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets)
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations (including cash and bank accounts)
  • Help prepare management information and financial reporting
  • Support group reporting and data submissions
  • Perform variance analysis and help explain key movements
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Contribute to strong financial controls and policy adherence
  • Provide analytical support across Finance, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist with data analysis, reporting and process improvements
  • Provide support to AP/AR processes when needed


What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with potential, curiosity, and a genuine interest in finance you don’t need to know everything yet.


You might be:

  • A recent graduate or early in your career
  • Studying towards (or planning to start) your ACCA qualification
  • Interested in building a career in financial services


And you’ll bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset


Key skills and experience

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Sciences, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of financial accounting principles (e.g. journals, accruals, month-end)
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (with a desire to develop further)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships across teams


Nice to have

  • Previous internship, placement or work experience in finance or treasury
  • Exposure to financial services or banking
  • Interest in treasury, liquidity, or financial risk management
