Join Close Brothers Group Finance Team where you will act as the central point of coordination for Finance related controls across the Group. The role exists to provide assurance, governance, and support in how risks and controls are managed within Finance, ensuring that activity is delivered in line with regulatory, accounting, and financial reporting expectations. The role bridges between 1st line Finance teams and 2nd line oversight functions, providing consistent challenge, reporting, and governance support.
The role provides an opportunity to strengthen Finance control frameworks, shape reporting to senior stakeholders, and partner with Finance leaders to address gaps and improve the effectiveness of financial controls.

Responsibilities
Governance & Monitoring
- Coordinate Finance Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), ensuring submissions are complete, accurate and aligned with Group standards.
- Support Material Control Owners with annual attestation requirements.
- Maintain inventory of Process flows and associated documentation
- Support Finance teams in enhancing portfolio of processes, risk and controls housed within GRC system
- Assist Finance teams in achieving compliance to internal data standards and policies
- Act as the day‑to‑day liaison point for audit activity relating to Finance controls.
- Coordinate requests for evidence and support remediation of Finance‑related audit findings.
- Oversee the design, embedding, testing and ongoing assurance of Finance controls, ensuring they remain effective and aligned with Group control standards.
- Partner with Finance leaders to ensure controls are properly designed into processes and systems, supporting delivery of the Controls Transformation Programme.
- Strong experience in Finance, Financial Control, External Audit, Internal Audit or Risk within a financial services organisation.
- A deep understanding of financial reporting processes, reconciliations, month‑end close and balance sheet substantiation.
- The ability to assess control design and operating effectiveness.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- An effective communicator able to present clear, concise information to stakeholders.
- Confident in challenging constructively and influencing outcomes.
- A professional qualification preferred (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of SOX‑style frameworks and materiality considerations for financial control testing.
- Experience using GRC or control monitoring platforms (e.g. MetricStream).
- An awareness of regulatory expectations for financial controls.
