About the Role
We are looking for an experiencedFinancial Accountant to support our Group Finance function. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting critical accounting processes across the business.
You will work closely with internal teams and overseas subsidiaries, contributing to month-end close, statutory reporting, and audit activities while maintaining high standards of financial control and governance.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract role and will require the successful candidate to be based at our Leeds office twice a week (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare period-end journals and support month-end close activities
- Deliver analysis and commentary on key account balances
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations in line with audit requirements
- Manage weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, including FX revaluations
- Produce cost centre reports and financial insights for functional leaders
- Support year-end statutory accounts and audit processes
- Assist with corporation tax and VAT submissions, ensuring HMRC compliance
- Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate preparation of month-end payroll journals and compliance with employment tax requirements.
- Manage intercompany accounting, including recharge calculations and loans
- Support cash flow forecasting and financial planning activities
- Provide support on ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and technical accounting queries
About You
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT)
- Strong experience in financial accounting within a group environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP experience essential
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- A proactive, self-motivated team player with a flexible approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working with high volumes of data and complex financial information
