Financial Controller

The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, strengthening governance frameworks and driving operational excellence across the business and its six legal entities.
You will act as a key business partner, influencing decision-making while leading a talented finance team and delivering best-practice financial management across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Governance
- Lead external financial reporting across the group and its six legal entities.
- Oversee the preparation and review of separate and consolidated monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure high-quality monthly management reporting packs are delivered to Group within agreed deadlines.
- Act as the primary Finance lead for internal audit engagements, managing responses and remediation plans.
- Develop, maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies and governance frameworks.
- Lead cash forecasting activities and support effective liquidity management.
- Manage foreign exchange risk and exposure across the group.
- Oversee global payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
- Lead credit risk management activities and proactively mitigate financial exposure.
- Partner with the Finance Director to drive continuous improvement, process optimisation and system enhancements.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, mentoring and development planning.
- Ensure effective cross-training and succession planning across the team.
- Build strong working relationships across Finance and the wider business.
About You:
You are a technically strong finance professional who combines exceptional financial expertise with a proactive and commercially focused approach.
Essential Experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Significant experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
- Strong background in financial and management reporting.
- Experience within an international group environment.
- Proven expertise in financial consolidation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Audit background.
- FMCG or manufacturing sector experience.
