Freelance Graphic Designer
Kpler is looking for a hands-on Freelance Graphic Designer to own creative projects from initial brief through to final delivery.
You will transform complex data, expertise and stories into clear, engaging visual communication. Your work will span campaigns, reports, events, social media, digital platforms, print and out-of-home advertising, with motion design used where it strengthens the creative idea.
Working closely with Brand Marketing, Data Visualisation and Product Design, you will thoughtfully adapt concepts for different audiences, formats and environments—not simply resize the same artwork for every channel.
We’re looking for someone who brings fresh thinking, sound judgement and a growing creative point of view: confident enough to make decisions and curious enough to continue improving them.
- Own design deliverables from brief to final production, working independently while recognising when collaboration will improve the outcome.
- Turn complex information and data into clear, memorable visual stories.
- Develop cohesive creative work across campaigns, reports, social content, events, digital platforms, print and out-of-home.
- Adapt ideas intelligently for different audiences and channels, considering scale, pace, context, accessibility and legibility.
- Work directly with stakeholders to clarify objectives, present creative rationale and manage feedback through to delivery.
- Apply and evolve Kpler’s visual identity, identifying inconsistencies while keeping the work fresh and connected.
- Contribute actively to creative critiques, team discussions and shared resources.
- Share knowledge and support junior designers where appropriate.
- Your work makes complex subjects easier to understand, more engaging and more memorable.
- Projects progress reliably from brief to production-ready delivery, with strong attention to quality, accuracy and consistency.
- You contribute ideas, solve problems proactively and strengthen the creative work through collaboration—not simply execution.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful graphic design across campaigns and multiple formats.
- Experience taking projects from initial brief through concept development, feedback and final production.
- Practical experience designing for digital and physical applications, including social media, reports, events, print and large-scale environments.
- The ability to explain your creative process, design decisions and individual contribution to collaborative projects.
- Strong visual storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify moderately complex information without losing its meaning.
- Confidence developing a creative point of view and carrying work forward without needing every step mapped out.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present work clearly, explain the thinking behind it and apply feedback thoughtfully.
- A collaborative mindset: confident without ego, independent without becoming isolated, and willing to consider better ideas from others.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Experience with Figma.
- Motion-design experience using tools such as After Effects or Premiere Pro is a valuable addition.
- Strong production knowledge across print, digital and motion, including colour profiles, bleed, resolution, accessibility, export specifications and supplier handover.
- An understanding that a social animation, report, event wall and billboard each require different creative and production thinking.
- Practical curiosity about AI and emerging creative tools, particularly how they can improve workflows, reduce friction or unlock stronger ideas.
Experience working within data, technology, commodities or financial markets would be helpful, but it is not essential. The strength of your ideas, portfolio and creative thinking matters more than following a conventional career path.
There is no minimum number of years of experience required for this role. We recognise that people learn and progress at different speeds; what matters is the quality of your work, your thinking and the level of ownership you are ready to take on.
A formal design qualification is welcome but not required. Your background may be in-house, agency-side, freelance or non-traditional—your portfolio and creative process will tell us the most.
Please submit your CV and portfolio to jmuzhuzha@kpler.com. Where possible, include examples that demonstrate your creative process, decision-making and contribution to collaborative projects.
