Freelance Senior Designer, Womenswear
ABOUT NINETY PERCENT
Ninety Percent is a responsible London fashion label with a simple promise at its heart: we share 90% of our distributable profits between the people who make our collections happen and five charitable causes (Big Life, WildAid, BRAC, Children's Hope and War Child UK). Founded in London in 2018 by Para Hamilton and Shafiq Hassan, we design elevated, considered womenswear from our Camden studio and make it in a global network as well as our own award-winning factory, Echotex in Bangladesh, where zero wastewater production and worker welfare set the standard. Our collections are built on low-impact materials such as GOTS certified organic cotton, TENCEL, linen and MicroModal, and are designed for longevity. Clothes for the world we want.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a freelance Senior Designer to join our small London team, 3 to 4 days per week, based at our Camden studio. You will work closely with the brand's Directors, translating their creative vision into commercial, beautifully resolved collections across wovens and jersey. This is a hands-on role for a designer who can carry a product all the way from first sketch to final fit: research, CADs, tech packs, specs and fittings, working directly with our factories overseas.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Translate the Directors' creative vision into cohesive seasonal collections and core wardrobe styles
· Design across multiple product categories, wovens and jersey in particular, from dresses and shirting to soft tailoring, tees and sweats
· Produce clean, accurate CADs and build detailed tech packs ready for factory handover
· Create and manage specs and garment measurements; run fittings and communicate fit comments clearly
· Work day to day with production partners across multiple countries, primarily our own factory Echotex in Bangladesh
· Research fabric, trims, colour and trend in line with our low-impact material standards
· Contribute across the critical path in a small, collaborative studio where everyone stays close to the product
WHO YOU ARE
· A minimum of 5 years' experience at designer level
· A background with contemporary or premium brands rather than high street
· Proven multi-product experience across wovens and jersey (knitwear a plus)
· Experienced working with international suppliers and factories across multiple countries
· Fluent in CADs and detailed tech packs, with a strong understanding of specs, garment measurements and fit
· Happy in a small team: self-sufficient, flexible and comfortable moving between big-picture creative work and precise technical detail
· Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (AI image generation or similar a plus)
· An affinity with responsible design and our people and planet values
THE DETAILS
· Freelance, 3 to 4 days per week
· Based at our Camden studio, London
· Competitive day rate, dependent on experience
· Start date: as soon as possible
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through LinkedIn with your CV and portfolio (essential), including examples of CADs and tech pack work where possible.
