Front of House Assistant
Bolt Burdon Kemp, a top-ranked London law firm, is looking for a warm, organised and proactive Front of House Assistant to help create an exceptional experience for clients and visitors to our office. You’ll join a friendly, supportive team in a varied role where no two days are the same and where your care, professionalism and attention to detail will make a genuine difference, particularly for visitors who may need additional support.
What you’ll do
- Create a warm, professional welcome for everyone visiting or working at our EC1A office.
- Coordinate meeting room bookings, maintain internal guest lists and arrange refreshments.
- Keep client-facing areas immaculate and provide polished hospitality for meetings and in-house events.
- Manage building access, visitors and deliveries smoothly and securely.
- Support clients and colleagues in person and by telephone, responding with patience, discretion and empathy; some clients may be vulnerable and require additional assistance while visiting the office.
- Answer switchboard calls promptly and deliver consistently excellent customer service.
- Provide occasional cover for the Support team and help with relevant administrative and housekeeping tasks.
What you’ll bring
- At least one year’s experience in a busy front-of-house role within a professional-services environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage sensitively with vulnerable clients, colleagues and visiting professionals.
- Strong organisation, exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- A positive, flexible approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and support the wider team.
- A confident, approachable and proactive manner, together with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- First-aid and fire marshal training would be welcome, but it is not essential, we’ll provide training.
Working pattern: Flexible hours between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm on a rota basis, with occasional cover for out-of-hours events and emergencies.
