Global Liquidity Solutions Director
Finteum is hiring a Global Liquidity Solutions Director, as a treasury, liquidity, funding and FX specialist to support our clients, reporting to the Co-founder and CEO. £120,000-£150,000 base salary, plus bonus and equity
Finteum has built a platform for banks to borrow money from each other for hours at a time. The award-winning Finteum Platform enables bank treasury, FX and repo teams to negotiate intraday FX swaps and intraday repo with each other on T+0 or T+1.
Finteum offers the only inter-dealer platform for this type of trading. Banks use the platform to reduce intraday liquidity buffers held on the balance sheet, generate additional P&L through lending currency surpluses and gain access to instant intraday FX markets. In July 2024, UBS and CIBC executed the world’s first intraday FX swap on the Finteum Platform. Today, Goldman Sachs, UBS and NatWest are live and trading more than $1bn per week in intraday FX swaps, with a growing group of banks progressing through onboarding, integration, and deployment.
The Finteum Platform creates vital liquidity, as the finance world increasingly adopts tokenised digital assets. Finteum uses DLT to generate efficiencies in post-trade processing and has proven integrations with upcoming digital settlement rails, including tokenised deposits and stablecoins, such as Circle, Fnality and Partior.
We are expanding our client-facing team by adding an expert with bank treasury, liquidity management, balance sheet management and/or FX swaps experience, together with strong communication and organisational skills. You will have a good understanding of the front to back processes and systems used by banks for FX swaps (and ideally repo), from the perspective of different bank stakeholder teams (front office, treasury/liquidity governance, operations / cash management, risk, finance, regulatory relations, treasury IT, compliance, reg reporting, etc.).
Why join Finteum:
- VC-backed (pre-Series A), FCA-registered startup with a growing team, currently around 20 people, of which 2 are working on GTM, sales and marketing (2 more being added, including this role)
- Equity: you own part of the company
- Flexible working: work from home up to 3 days per week and in the London office otherwise, unless travelling. We are driven by results achieved and not by set, fixed hours at your desk, but you should expect to work 37+ hours per week and to get most of your work done during Mon-Fri 09:00-17:30
- Influence: a working environment with low bureaucracy and a lot of personal initiative
- Whole team, fully-paid offsites twice per year, including with our remote team in Europe. Previous locations include Lisbon, Malaga, Bordeaux, Istanbul, Budapest and Malta.
- 25 days’ holiday, plus public holidays
- Competitive base salary, plus bonus and equity, with meaningful upside as the company grows
Responsibilities:
- For designated prospective client banks, you will join meetings and calls to explain and demonstrate Finteum’s solutions, using your deep expertise in treasury, liquidity management and FX, to connect our solutions to their priorities and needs
- You will work alongside Finteum’s sales team to address client questions and objections related to liquidity management (including intraday liquidity), funding using FX swaps and repo, settlement options, integration with bank systems and processes, Finteum technology, liquidity regulation, FX swap market developments, FX infrastructure, counterparty credit risk, competitors, ISDA master agreements and related topics
- For designated banks that have committed to advance, you will lead support through their governance and onboarding processes. You will proactively coordinate with stakeholders across the client organisation, with support from Finteum’s leadership and engineering team
- For some designated banks that are already live, you will interface directly with some stakeholders in the bank, to ensure they are getting the maximum benefit from the platform
- To support client relationship building, you will travel internationally for conferences and client meetings for up to 4 weeks per year, as well as attending at least 1 week team offsite abroad. Travel expenses are fully covered and mostly during working days
- You will have a voice in evolving Finteum’s sales and marketing strategies, contributing ideas to our overall GTM strategy to help clients to progress from initial interest to live usage
- You will provide input into Finteum’s software design, product roadmap, functionality and user experience, using your discussions with bank stakeholders to advise Finteum’s product team
- As Finteum is a startup, the responsibilities of this role may evolve depending on your preferred focus areas and the needs of the company
Requirements and qualities:
- 5+ years’ experience working in large banks, or an appropriate consulting, financial market infrastructure, or fintech company, in a role with exposure to treasury, liquidity management, FX and repo. Ideally substantial prior exposure to front office funding, FX swaps/forwards and/or STIR desks
- Strong knowledge of most or all of the following topics: liquidity, intraday liquidity, liquidity modelling, stress testing, FX swaps, repo trading, related regulation, and the processes and systems in the related stakeholder teams
- Demonstrable adaptability, including the ability to self-organise and drive results in a startup environment with less structure and fewer support functions than a large bank
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to be succinct, show curiosity and ask for support when needed. Strong written and presentation skills are also important, including the ability to quickly create a document, slide or spreadsheet to communicate a concept to clients
- Prior experience in FX sales, enterprise pre-sales or consultative solution sales is preferred, but less important than the treasury, liquidity, FX and client-facing expertise described above
- Diligent attention to detail
- Self-starter with excellent organisational, prioritisation and planning skills
- Degree or higher education preferred
- Fluent English, other languages a plus
If you do not meet every requirement but believe your experience is highly relevant to this role, we would still encourage you to apply. Finteum is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to building an inclusive hiring process.
