JAW Sustainability are a dynamic sustainability consultancy company in the construction and property industry. We undertake embodied carbon analysis, WLCAs and Circular Economy reporting. We are also involved in all environmental and wellbeing certifications and assessments. In addition, we provide a range of services including building performance modelling, covering energy and carbon, overheating and thermal comfort and daylight and sunlight modelling. We work closely with our clients from our office in Hoxton, working on projects across London and the rest of the UK, and abroad. 

The company was founded nearly 10 years ago and has been going from strength to strength, and are looking to expand over the coming year and beyond.

We are looking for a new Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our team to support the Materials and Waste team in carrying out Whole Life Cycle Carbon assessments, pre-demolition audits and Circular Economy assessments. This role would suit a proactive and ambitious individual who is looking to grow within the company.

The role of the Graduate Sustainability Consultant will include following:

• Carrying out whole life carbon assessments on new and refurbished buildings
• Carrying out pre demolition audits, including site visits
• Developing Circular Economy strategies 
• Collaborating with other teams at JAW to deliver large-scale projects
• Working closely with clients to produce sustainability assessments which are tailored to the development and meet desired client outcomes
• Preparing various high quality reports for clients and certification bodies
• Attending workshops and meetings with clients

Required experience/skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a subject related to engineering, sustainability or the built environment
• Understanding of building Whole Life Cycle carbon assessment
• Understanding of the Circular economy and its application to construction 
• Familiarity with One Click LCA
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD.
• Proven teamwork skills
• Understanding of building design
• Understanding of construction practices
• Demonstrable experience of all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly analytical, with ability to review and understand technical information
• Enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Ability to adapt to evolving work environments

Desired experience:

• Experience working with Rhino3D, Grasshopper, Autodesk Revit
• Demonstrable experience in carrying out Whole life Cycle carbon assessments
• Proficiency in carbon reporting software such as OneClick LCA
