As a Ground Operations Officer, you will play a critical role in the coordination, control, and delivery of RVL Aviation’s flying programme.

Operating within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations whilst balancing commercial and operational priorities. This is a hands-on, decision-making role requiring strong situational awareness, resilience under pressure, and the ability to take ownership of operational outcomes.

We are seeking a confident individual, someone who can think critically, challenge decisions constructively, and influence stakeholders across multiple departments.

This role is suited to individuals who thrive in high-accountability environments and take ownership of operational decision-making.

As part of a 24-hour operation, shift work and unsociable hours are required. The role is not desk-based; you will also be actively involved in ramp and hangar operations, requiring both physical capability and operational awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and dispatch aircraft across the RVL Aviation fleet
  • Conduct detailed pre-flight briefings, identifying operational risks, hazards to flight safety, and commercial considerations
  • Monitor flight progress (Flight Watch), ensuring operations remain safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective
  • Prepare, validate, and manage Operational Flight Plans (OFPs)
  • Liaise with flow management and Air Traffic Control to minimise delays and disruption as well as coordinating crew training requirements.
  • Manage and monitor aircrew rosters in accordance with Flight Time Limitations (FTL) and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise closely with CAMO and Engineering to coordinate scheduled maintenance inputs, defect management, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Escalate operational issues promptly, ensuring appropriate involvement from senior management or supporting departments
  • Conduct proactive weather and NOTAM analysis to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate ground handling, fuel, permits, HOTAC, and crew transport arrangements.
  • Support and maximise commercial opportunities, including ad-hoc and short-notice charter operations.
  • Collate and validate pre-flight documentation and process Return Flight Documentation (RFD).
  • Activate and support Emergency Response Procedures (ERP) when required.
  • Contribute proactively to RVL Group’s Safety Management System (SMS) and safety culture.

Ramp & Operational Support

  • Actively support ramp operations, including aircraft towing and maneuvering using Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Perform aircraft fueling in accordance with procedures and safety requirements.
  • Oversee and assist with loading/unloading and management of cargo.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the RVL hangar and ramp areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Provide operational support during turnarounds and facilitate short-notice operational requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in an aviation environment or a strong foundation within the industry.
  • Strong operational awareness with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational capability
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and operational systems

Desirable

  • Experience within an Operations Control Centre (OCC) or Ground Handling environment.
