Group Deputy Principal - Curriculum & Quality

Role Summary

As Group Deputy Principal - Curriculum & Quality, you will play a critical role in delivering our mission to support around 14,000 learners each year across further education, higher education and apprenticeships, DN Colleges Group is ambitious for its students, communities and colleagues. We are looking for an influential and forward-thinking leader who shares that ambition and can drive excellence across curriculum, quality, teaching, learning and assessment.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership for a large and diverse curriculum portfolio, ensuring our provision responds to the needs of learners, employers and regional economies while delivering outstanding outcomes and experiences for students. You will lead continuous improvement, champion educational excellence and help position the Group for future growth and success in an evolving education landscape.

This role is suited to an experienced senior leader who combines strategic vision with operational excellence, inspires high-performing teams and is passionate about making a lasting difference to students and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Group's long-term curriculum strategy and annual curriculum planning process.
  • Provide strategic leadership for curriculum performance, quality assurance, teaching, learning and assessment across all provision types.
  • Drive continuous improvement through effective quality frameworks, self-assessment processes and targeted quality improvement plans.
  • Lead and develop curriculum leaders, ensuring clear objectives, accountability and high performance.
  • Oversee organisational readiness for external inspection, quality assurance and regulatory requirements, including acting as the Ofsted Nominee.
  • Provide expert leadership on compliance with external regulatory frameworks and emerging sector requirements.
  • Analyse performance data to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.
  • Represent the Group externally through regional networks, stakeholder forums and partnership activity.
  • Provide clear performance reporting to senior leaders, governors and external audiences.
  • Deputise for the Group Principal as required and contribute to a collaborative and high-performing leadership culture.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant senior leadership experience within a large and complex learning organisation with a diverse curriculum portfolio.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of quality, teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Proven ability to lead organisational transformation, drive improvement and manage high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively at a strategic level.

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
