Head of Commercial Finance | Reading based - Hybrid Working (3 days onsite) | £110,000 – £130,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Stanton House are exclusively retained to appoint a transformational Head of Commercial Finance. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with genuine influence - shaping and embedding a high-performing finance business partnering function across a multi-billion-pound enterprise undergoing major transformation.

The Role:

You will lead a sizeable commercial finance function (~50 people), redefining how finance partners with the wider business. This is not a “steady-state” leadership role - it’s about building structure, accountability, capability, and consistency within a function that sits at the heart of major infrastructure, operational, and investment programmes.

Key focus areas include:

✔ Building a best-in-class business partnering model

✔ Driving organisational design and capability uplift

✔ Embedding finance into strategic decision-making

✔ Strengthening governance, controls, and accountability

✔ Influencing senior stakeholders across a highly complex environment

We are looking for a proven finance leader with:

✅ Strong commercial finance / FP&A leadership experience in a large and complex business

✅ A track record in transformation or function build environments

✅ Experience leading large, complex teams

✅ Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing capability

✅ Backgrounds in infrastructure, manufacturing, engineering, or similarly complex operational environments
