Job Title: Head of Facilities Management

Location: Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre Oxfordshire, OX5 1RE

Reports to: Centre Director / Head of FM (I&J)

Direct Reports: FM Supervisors & Helpdesk Co-Ordinators


Role Purpose

This role is responsible for providing both strategic leadership and operational oversight of integrated Facilities Management services, encompassing both Hard and Soft FM, within a secure environment. The successful candidate will promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement, ensuring an excellent experience for all service users. They will lead, support, and develop a high-performing team, delivering services efficiently, effectively, and within budget. Working closely with clients, colleagues, and supply partners, they will build strong relationships and leverage wider organisational expertise to drive service excellence and achieve operational objectives.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will ensure contract requirements and CDIs are consistently achieved while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. They will contribute to the development and implementation of service plans, policies and procedures aligned to client needs, monitor performance through KPIs and data insights, and proactively drive service improvements. The role will involve effective resource planning to meet operational demands, acting as an escalation point for complex issues, supporting audits and inspections, and working closely with the QHSE Manager and Senior Leadership Team to maintain a safe, secure and compliant environment. A strong commitment to security protocols, governance and continuous service excellence is essential.


Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Total FM (TFM), ideally within a custodial or secure environment.
  • Background in building services maintenance, supported by a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Health & Safety qualification: IOSH (essential), NEBOSH (desirable).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IWFM, CMI, IOSH).
  • Awareness of SFG20 maintenance standards.
  • Experience across both Hard FM and Soft Services.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources.
