Head of FDM

We are supporting a well‑established, production‑focused advanced manufacturing business.

They are now looking for a Head of FDM to take full ownership of their FDM production operation where you’ll drive output, quality, and process improvement in a fast‑paced environment.

You'll operate in a production environment, where efficiency, repeatability, and delivery matter.

The Role:

You will lead the FDM department end‑to‑end, combining technical expertise with day‑to‑day operational leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing:

* Own FDM production performance: throughput, quality, and on‑time delivery

* Lead and develop a small team of technicians

* Set up, operate, and maintain industrial FDM systems, including large‑format and composite printing.

* Collaborate with engineering teams on design for manufacture (DfM) and build strategy.

* Drive continuous improvements to reduce waste, downtime, and rework.

* Support quoting on technically complex jobs

What We’re Looking For:

* Proven hands‑on experience with industrial FDM in a production environment.

* Strong knowledge of engineering materials.

* Previous experience leading or supervising a team

* Process‑driven mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
