About Hackstons

We are a reputable and multifaceted asset ownership, retail and e-commerce business based in London, specialising in fine wine and luxury spirits. We empower individuals to build wealth through the acquisition of fine and rare wine, whisky and spirits, whether in cask or bottle form. Our services include education, secure premium insurance and tailored storage solutions for our clients. Additionally, we offer an unparalleled, curated range of products in both our physical and online retail stores.

The Role

This is a full‑stack Head of Marketing role, combining strategic leadership with hands‑on execution across team management, performance marketing, lead generation, CRM and content.

You will own the marketing strategy for our cask whisky investment division while also rolling up your sleeves to deliver and optimise campaigns. You’ll lead an internal team, manage specialist partners and build a scalable marketing function that drives qualified leads, customer acquisition and revenue growth.

While the role will support wider retail and eCommerce marketing activity where required, its core focus will be the continued growth of Hackstons’ cask whisky ownership division and the optimisation of the lead generation funnel from acquisition through to conversion.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Own the marketing strategy for lead generation, customer acquisition and commercial growth.
  • Set quarterly priorities, KPIs and performance targets.
  • Shape brand direction within the luxury investment space.
  • Manage the marketing budget and allocate spend for maximum ROI.
  • Act as the primary operator within the marketing team, stepping in hands‑on when required and covering operational gaps during staff absence.

Performance Marketing & Lead Generation (Hands‑On)

  • Optimise PPC, Meta, Google Ads and paid social with agency partners.
  • Personally operate and refine paid media campaigns, with demonstrable success ideally in Meta Ads.
  • Build and refine landing pages, funnels, lead magnets and nurture journeys.
  • Own CRM workflows, segmentation, attribution and pipeline visibility (HubSpot).
  • Analyse CPL, ROAS, conversion rates and lead quality.
  • Use GA4, Meta Ads Manager, Google Tag Manager and landing page optimisation tools to monitor and improve campaign performance.

Team Leadership

  • Scale and manage the internal marketing team including executives and creative support.
  • Lead external agencies across paid media, content, PR and social.
  • Set clear briefs, priorities and performance expectations.

Content, Social & PR

  • Oversee content strategy, social direction, PR opportunities and brand storytelling.
  • Ensure all creative output aligns with commercial goals and brand standards.
  • Identify partnership and PR opportunities that support growth.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Retail, eCommerce and Leadership teams.
  • Ensure marketing activity supports revenue, product launches and customer experience.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone commercially driven, proactive, analytical and highly organised. You will understand how to build and optimise a lead-generation focused marketing function within a fast-moving luxury business.

The ideal candidate will be confident managing agencies and specialist partners, comfortable owning campaign performance and reporting and motivated by delivering measurable commercial growth.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven lead generation experience with hands‑on ownership of paid media and performance marketing (Meta Ads strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrable success in paid media campaigns, ideally showing improvements in CPL, ROAS, conversion rates and lead quality.
  • Experience managing an internal marketing team, including direct line management of staff, as well as external agencies.
  • Hands‑on CRM experience (HubSpot ideal).
  • Strong B2C marketing experience, ideally in high‑consideration or premium categories targeting high-net-worth individuals (HNWI).
  • Comfortable analysing data and making commercial decisions.
  • Highly organised, proactive and commercially minded.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in luxury, premium, drinks, retail or investment sectors.
  • Experience in fast‑growth SME environments.

  • Collaborative, ambitious environment
  • Company pension, 21 days holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Eligibility for our Cask Loyalty Programme (gifted casks at 3, 5 and 10 years)
