Health & Safety Advisor, Wales & West


Office Base: Bridgend

Salary: Negotiable


Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our Wales and West team, supporting projects across Wales, the South West and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will ideally have a strong background within the UK construction sector, with experience in groundworks, reinforced concrete frame, or similar high-risk construction environments.


The role will primarily focus on supporting site teams, auditing projects for health and safety compliance, promoting best practice, and ensuring company standards are maintained across all live sites.


The role will be based from our Bridgend office, with regular travel to sites as required. The successful candidate must therefore be flexible and willing to travel across the region, and occasionally further afield where business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out regular site health and safety audits and inspections
  • Monitoring site compliance with company procedures, legal requirements, and client expectations
  • Supporting site teams in the implementation of RAMS, permits, toolbox talks, and safe systems of work
  • Providing practical health and safety advice to project teams, supervisors, and operatives
  • Assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and close-out of corrective actions
  • Reviewing site documentation and helping maintain high standards of health and safety compliance
  • Supporting the development and delivery of health and safety briefings and toolbox talks
  • Liaising with clients, principal contractors, site teams, and subcontractors
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture across all projects
  • Supporting the wider H&S team and company management system where required


Requirements

- Experience within UK construction, ideally groundworks, civil engineering, or reinforced concrete frame projects

- Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction site requirements

- Ability to audit sites and identify practical, effective corrective actions

- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with site teams at all levels

- Ability to manage workload, travel between sites, and work independently when required

- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent qualification preferred

- Full UK driving licence required
