Heat Network Manager
Our client, based in Surrey, is currently recruiting for a Heat Network Manager on a 6 month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The daily rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.
This is a key role focused on ensuring heat networks are operated safely, efficiently and in line with the evolving Ofgem Heat Network Regulatory Framework. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of communal and commercial heating systems with experience in compliance, contractor management and customer-focused service delivery.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Manage the day-to-day operation of communal heating and hot water systems across the portfolio
- Oversee heat network infrastructure including energy centres, heat interface units (HIUs), heat exchangers, substations, distribution pipework and associated plant
- Monitor system performance, reliability and energy efficiency
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance programmes are delivered effectively
- Manage reactive repairs, outages and major incidents to minimise disruption to residents
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce energy consumption and enhance service reliability
Experience required:
- Significant experience managing communal heating and hot water systems
- Experience working with district heating or heat network infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of commercial heating systems, energy centres and associated mechanical plant
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to interpret complex technical and regulatory information
- Excellent contractor and supplier management experience
