HGV Driver

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site HGV Driver role based in Dartford. The HGV Driver will be responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport freight between customer locations, depots. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, securing loads, and completing delivery paperwork and logs accurately. The driver will follow assigned routes and schedules, comply with all road safety rules and company policies, and communicate with dispatch to report progress, delays, or issues. The role also involves maintaining a clean and roadworthy vehicle and representing the company professionally with customers and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A (or equivalent HGV license) and a clean driving record.
- Proven Truck Driving experience, including safe operation of heavy goods vehicles and maneuvering in varied traffic and site conditions.
- Working knowledge of DOT Regulations (or relevant UK/EU transport regulations), hours-of-service rules, and road safety standards.
- Ability to conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report Truck maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Strong time management skills and reliability in meeting delivery schedules.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, climbing in and out of the cab.
- Previous experience in freight, haulage, or logistics environments is preferred.
