Housing Trustee
We’re looking for a new Trustee with housing expertise to join YMCA Derbyshire. This is a voluntary role with a modest time commitment and a significant opportunity to make a difference.
At YMCA Derbyshire, we support young people and communities facing challenging circumstances, including homelessness, social exclusion and barriers to education and employment. Our spaces are more than buildings—they are homes, safe places and opportunities for people to rebuild their lives.
“What I value most about being a trustee is the opportunity to contribute to something bigger than yourself. The board brings together people from different professional backgrounds, but we all share a commitment to creating opportunities for young people and strengthening our community.” Kate Martin, current trustee
As a Trustee and member of our Housing Committee, you will help shape how we grow, manage and future-proof our housing services for the years ahead.
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in:
• Social housing / housing management
• The Regulator of Social Housing and Consumer Standards
• Housing legislation and the Housing Ombudsman
• Governance within charities or non-profits
We’re committed to building a diverse Board and strongly welcome applications from people from underrepresented backgrounds and those with lived experience.
If you’re passionate about using your skills to drive real impact for young people and local communities, we’d love to hear from you.
