HR Manager, Business Services – Leeds or Manchester
The Role
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to partner with Business Services leaders and managers, delivering a modern, effective people service. This role focuses on coaching and enabling managers to manage routine people matters confidently, while providing expert oversight on more complex cases. You will play a key role in driving consistency, compliance, and a high-performing, positive employee experience.
The Team
Our HR team operates across multiple international locations and includes specialist functions such as Learning & Development, Resourcing, Early Careers, HR Operations, HR Business Partnering, and CSR & Diversity.
This role sits within the HR Business Partnering team, working closely with stakeholders to provide guidance, coaching, and support. You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values continuous improvement, innovation, and delivering impactful HR solutions.
What To Expect In This Role
As an HR Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor, delivering pragmatic, commercially focused support across the employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
HR Business Partnering:
• Provide clear, practical HR advice aligned to business goals
• Support workforce planning and recruitment best practice
• Analyse attrition trends and support retention strategies
• Lead talent initiatives and annual salary review processes for all employees and Partners.
Employee Relations Transformation and HR Support:
• Coach managers on performance, capability and probation
• Support wellbeing, attendance and family leave matters
• Build manager capability in ER processes and case management
• Lead complex ER cases with consistency and professionalism
• Identify insights from exits and improve employee experience
• Ensure policy understanding and effective governance
Process Improvement:
• Streamline HR processes and reduce reliance on HR for routine queries
Line Management:
• Manage and develop an HR Advisor or Graduate aligned to the business area you are working closely with.
Skills and Experience
• Strong and proven HRBP/generalist experience supporting operational, professional services, or corporate “Business Services” or “Business Support” teams.
• Solid UK employment law knowledge and practical ER case management
• Proven ability to coach and influence stakeholders performance, capability, and probation issues with a pragmatic, fair approach.
• Ability to analyse people data and translate it into clear, actionable insights for leaders.
