Support clinical excellence as a positive role model working alongside clinicians in all Trust settings to provide practical support on Infection prevention and Control.
Supportthedeliveryofhighqualitycareacrossallserviceswithin theirrole boundaries andwillprovidevisiblesupporttoboth clinical and non- clinical colleagues.
Acknowledge the unpredictable nature of the role/ work load and have the ability to re prioritise workload quickly and confidently when there are changes in circumstances. Maintaining own electronic diary.

The post holder will provide line management support, supervision and mentoring to their Band 6 and Band 4 IPC team members

Main duties of the job
- Toprovideexpertipc adviceandsupportto the care group and widerTruststaff asrequired.
- provide specialist advice on cases of Health care associated infection (HCAI) within the care group and across the Trust as directed in accordance with Trust policy.
- Provide specialist advice and management in relation to outbreaks of infection liaising with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) as required
- Contribute to the IPC annual plan and audit programme.
- Participate in the review of Trust IPC policies.
- Review of and delivery of IPC section of the Trust induction programme and bespoke training sessions
- Support the annual audit programme.
- Workwithrelevant health care partners across the local systems .
- Towork in partnershipwithinternal and external non-clinical teams including projects.
- Support Occupational Health services in relation to investigations of sharps injuries or bodily fluid exposure.
- Toundertakeinvestigationintopatient safety incidents , and post infection reviews into cases of HCAI
- representthe IPC team at relevant meetings .
- Lead on the development of the Trust wide Link Worker programme and conference.
- Anyotherdutiesas delegatedbythe IPC Lead orDirector, commensuratewiththeresponsibilitiesofthispost.
