Job Description


The Role

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions within a complex enterprise environment. The role supports large-scale digital and data transformation initiatives, working with modern technologies such as Azure and Microsoft Fabric, while ensuring alignment with business goals, performance, and cost optimization.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement the Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure Strategy across all program projects, focusing on Microsoft Azure with strong proficiency in both PaaS (Platform as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) models
  • Define robust cloud architecture, design, and oversee implementation for creating infrastructure. This includes advanced troubleshooting of issues, based on shared ideas for decommissioning technical applications and components, utilizing tools like Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Design and develop comprehensive migration strategies to transition from the current GP&T Information Platform to an enhanced version capable of supporting future roadmap objectives. This involves expertise in various database technologies such as Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server (latest version), alongside SQL programming.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and evolving existing solutions for various program projects. This includes customizing internal systems to meet specific customer needs, utilizing relevant Azure services and programming languages (SQL, R, Python).
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and integration of innovative technical solutions, leveraging advanced GenAI concepts and technologies such as RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) models, foundational LLM (Large Language Model) basics, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning, complemented by Python and R programming, to create intelligent, adaptable, and scalable R&D systems and infrastructures. This includes working with platforms like Microsoft AI Foundry and integrating Copilot capabilities where applicable.
  • Support the enablement of critical infrastructure capabilities for the GP&T Business, ensuring technologies are future-proofed and cloud-agnostic in nature, potentially leveraging Docker for containerization and scheduling.
  • Work to build and support the R&D Data platform ecosystem for data fabric within a multi-cloud environment. This includes migrating and supporting existing workloads and legacy applications/data to the cloud as part of the program, utilizing Azure (IaaS and PaaS), various databases, and source control tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate closely with all program stakeholders to evaluate requirements and plan solutions effectively.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and ensure completion of all GSK and TCS assigned training.
  • Operate within an Agile and DevOps model, leveraging Azure DevOps and GitHub for continuous integration and delivery.
