The Role

As a Networks Infrastructure Team Leader, you will step into a pivotal role designed to lead, inspire and shape the future of NEXT Technology’s core environments. Whether guiding strategic network infrastructure projects from inception to completion or orchestrating the day-to-day stability, security and high performance of our warehouse LAN/WAN and Retail stores WAN, you will make a tangible difference to the systems supporting millions of daily customers. Managing a dedicated team of technical engineers, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional technology teams, external vendors and key business stakeholders.

What You’ll Take On:

  • Lead and empower your team by providing daily focus through stand-ups, conducting regular one-to-ones and offering active coaching to enhance technical skills and career growth.
  • Drive the full project lifecycle from initial planning and scoping through to execution, ensuring network infrastructure deployments, migrations and upgrades are delivered on time, within budget and to excellent standards.
  • Oversee operational health by maintaining robust monitoring, proactive maintenance programs and capacity planning to address potential issues before they impact business operations.
  • Collaborate across the business with internal teams, vendors and contractors to align goals, manage risks and procure the necessary hardware, software, or services efficiently.
  • Champion operational standards by keeping critical infrastructure documentation accurate, ensuring strict compliance with security policies and shaping seasonal budget recommendations.
  • Act as a point of technical escalation , stepping into Major Incident support when needed to guide troubleshooting efforts and restore vital services quickly.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven leadership capability , with a natural knack for motivating technical engineers, delegating tasks effectively and cultivating an open, inclusive team environment without egos.
  • A strong conceptual framework of core network infrastructure principles and architectures, WiFi technologies, network monitoring and firewalls.
  • Grounded operational or project management expertise , comfortably working within large corporate environments and aligning with ITIL processes for change, request, problem and incident management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills , allowing you to present updates clearly, make informed decisions and collaborate transparently across multiple business areas.
  • An innovative problem-solving mindset , balanced with sharp attention to detail, a proactive approach to process improvement and the resilience to handle busy corporate moments calmly.
  • Integrity and a commitment to growth , showing a genuine enthusiasm for learning from both successes and setbacks, keeping it real and staying ahead of emerging industry trends.
