Interactive Galleries Coordinator (18 month FTC)

City Of London, England, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 4 hours ago

Do you enjoy bringing together people, projects, and technology to keep interactive experiences running smoothly and continuously improving?

About us

The Science Museum Group (SMG) includes the Science Museum, National Railway Museum, Science and Industry Museum, Science and Media Museum, Locomotion, and the Science and Innovation Park, together forming the world's greatest alliance of science museums.

Our Technical Services department provides technical support across the Science Museum by maintaining digital and AV exhibits, delivering technical services for events, and supporting the build of new galleries and exhibitions.

We are now looking for an Interactive Galleries Coordinator to join us at the Science Museum on a fixed term basis for 18 months. This role will be a full time, 36 hours per week position based onsite.

Out of hours on-site work will be required to support activities such as installations, events and contractor works. Some support may be required at other SMG sites.

About the role

As Interactive Galleries Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing updates and maintenance within the Technicians Gallery and other interactive spaces. You will work closely with technicians, operational teams, and external contractors to resolve issues efficiently and deliver continuous improvements. Alongside day-to-day operations, you will lead small-scale projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

You do not need advanced technical knowledge, but you should be at ease working with technology and technical teams

About you

By joining us, you'll bring experience coordinating technical or operational projects from concept through to delivery. You will be capable handling budgets and delivery schedules effectively, backed by refined organizational skills and the ability to prioritize across multiple demands.

You'll need effective communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical coworkers, consistently deliver great customer service, and remain open to learning.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
