RED is currently seeking an experienced Java Developer to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of scalable Java-based applications for a major financial services client. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative development team, supporting the delivery of secure, high-performance software solutions across the full software development lifecycle.

- Role: Java Developer
- Location: Glasgow
- Working Model: Hybrid, 2–3 days on site per week
- Duration: Until 31/12/2026
- Engagement: Inside IR35
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Java Developer within enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience, ideally Java 8 or above.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience working with Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate.
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Good understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimisation skills.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
- Ability to write clean, secure, and maintainable code.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
