About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead React Engineer to join our team and drive the development of modern, scalable, and high-performing web applications. You'll play a key role in frontend architecture, technical leadership, and delivering exceptional user experiences

Lead React Engineer

Location: Sheffield, UK (Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite)

Contract: Subcontract| Inside IR35

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain React-based web applications.
• Lead frontend architecture and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Enhance existing applications through debugging, optimization, and feature development.
• Champion accessibility, performance, and code quality best practices.
• Mentor developers and contribute to engineering excellence.

Required Skills

• Strong experience building production web applications with React.
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser APIs.
• Experience with frontend architecture, state management, component design, data fetching, and caching.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Preferred

• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
