Legal Counsel

We're working with an international business to appoint a Legal Counsel to join its legal team.

This is a broad commercial role within a lean legal function, offering significant responsibility and exposure from the outset. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, advising on a wide range of commercial and strategic matters in a fast-paced, international environment.

The business is continuing to grow through acquisition, so alongside day-to-day commercial work you'll have the opportunity to support M&A transactions, post-acquisition integration and other strategic projects. Given the global nature of the organisation, you'll also advise on cross-jurisdictional matters, working with colleagues and external counsel across multiple regions. There will be opportunities to travel internationally as part of the role.

This position would suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable managing a busy and diverse workload and is keen to work as a trusted adviser to the business. As part of a lean team, we're looking for someone who is proactive, takes ownership of their work and is happy operating with a high degree of autonomy.

About you

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 2-6 years' PQE
  • Broad commercial legal experience. Exposure to M&A or corporate work would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and providing practical, commercial legal advice.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • A self-starter who enjoys taking ownership, works well independently and is happy operating within a lean legal team.
  • Pragmatic, collaborative and commercially minded, with a strong focus on building relationships across the business.

The opportunity

  • Broad commercial legal work with direct exposure to the business.
  • Involvement in acquisitions and strategic projects.
  • Cross-border legal work within a global organisation.
  • International travel opportunities.
  • Excellent travel benefits and other employee perks.
  • A collaborative culture with genuine scope to develop and broaden your in-house experience.

A hybrid working model with four days per week in the office

If you're looking for a broad commercial role where you'll work closely with the business, take ownership of your work and gain exposure to M&A and international legal matters, we'd be pleased to hear from you.
