Legal Services is looking to offer a permanent position to a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work as a Legal Support Assistant within the Children, Families and Young Persons Team in Plymouth Council’s Legal Department providing vital and wide-ranging support services to the legal professionals in a team where quality, accuracy and effectiveness is at its core.

The role requires you to undertake legal casework as directed by senior colleagues, in accordance with professional practice standards and procedures and Legal Services Quality Service Plans.

The post is predominantly concerned with the process of creating and maintaining court documents in a digital and paper format, composing simple letters, the completion of various Court documents, communicating effectively with outside Solicitors, Barristers and the Children’s Young People and Families Service and the use of a case management system. There may be some requirement to assist team members with other Court processes.

Excellent communication skills are required together with the ability to work as part of a team. A high level of accuracy is essential, the ability to work within strict deadlines and to be able to work effectively under pressure.

The successful candidate will be required to work in the office (Ballard House) for at least 3 days per week, with the other working days being based at home. The interview will take place in person at Ballard House.
