Role Description
We are now recruiting for a new role of Maintenance Operative to join the Maintenance team. The Maintenance Operative role at CAV Systems Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Consett, County Durham. The primary purpose of the role is to support the Maintenance Technician in carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure machinery, buildings, facilities and equipment are kept in safe, functional and efficient working order.
The Maintenance Operative’s responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on machines, buildings and equipment
- Conducting regular inspections to identify and address mechanical and maintenance issues
- Carrying out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- A time served mechanical background
- Knowledge of multiple trades (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating), including the ability to work with various materials including wood and metal
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Ability to work with limited supervision and manage own workload
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
