Management Accountant
Location: Chesterfield, fully office based
Reports to: Finance Manager

Fancy being part of the numbers behind some of the UK's best-loved drinks brands?
We’re growing, and our finance team is growing with us.
We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our busy, friendly finance team and play an important role in keeping the numbers flowing behind the scenes.
This is a genuinely rounded role, giving you the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of finance activity while leading and developing a team of three. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, bringing financial insight and commercial thinking to the table.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail but can also step back and understand what the numbers are telling us—and why they matter. Just as importantly, you’ll be a confident people manager who enjoys helping others develop and creating a team where people can do their best work.
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a difference and work with a team that takes its work seriously (but not always itself), we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be getting stuck into
You’ll play a key role in keeping our finance operation running smoothly, while leading and supporting your team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting wider financial reporting.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances—because numbers rarely explain themselves.
- Preparing and posting journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Providing financial analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activity.
- Managing the month-end close process and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Producing ad hoc reports and analysis when the business needs a little extra number-crunching.
- Working with colleagues across the business to provide accurate, timely financial information.
- Supporting the Finance Manager with wider finance activities, projects and reporting.
- Leading, managing and developing three direct reports, including setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting their development.
- Creating a positive, collaborative team environment where people feel supported and accountable.
- Looking for opportunities to improve processes, reporting and the way we work.
The person behind the numbers
We’re looking for someone who knows their way around management accounts and month-end, but who is also interested in the wider business and enjoys leading people.
You’ll bring:
- A fully qualified CCAB accountancy qualification, or be part-qualified and actively working towards qualification.
- Experience with production, FMCG or manufacturing would be advantageous
- Previous experience working in a management accounting role.
- Strong month-end and management accounts experience.
- Proven experience managing and developing a team, including responsibility for performance and development.
- Good knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach—you’ll spot the rogue number hiding in the spreadsheet.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and get things done.
- A confident communicator who can build strong relationships across the business.
- A commercial mindset and the confidence to turn financial information into useful insight.
What great looks like
- Month-end numbers are accurate, on time and telling the story they should.
- Variances have been investigated rather than simply filed away for another day.
- The business has the financial insight it needs to make good decisions.
- Your spreadsheets are under control and your formulas are doing what they're supposed to.
- Your team knows what's expected of them, feels supported and is developing under your leadership.
- You’ve built strong relationships across the business and are someone people can rely on.
- You’ve helped make things better—not just done things the way they’ve always been done.
- Your team is performing well and contributing to the wider success of the business.
- And, importantly, you’re enjoying yourself along the way.
What's on Offer
- Competitive salary DOE
- 25 days holiday, increasing with length of service
- Company pension
- Employee Assistance Programme with Westfield Health
- Staff discount across our hotels and range of drinks products
- Free on-site parking
- Free daily lunch
- Other benefits including long-service awards, additional holiday days, EV Car Scheme, death in service and access to our money management support service
- Opportunities for career progression within the business
Why join us?
