We're looking for a Management Accountant to join our Thames Water framework team.

Location: Flexible M4 Corridor - Mixture of office and home working

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We're seeking a Management Accountant to work closely with our Finance Manager, providing vital financial and management information that supports our local management team. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact by supporting project financial performance and driving meaningful business decisions across our Thames Water framework.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Management Accountant, You'll Be Working Within The Finance Team, Supporting Them In Delivering Robust Financial Reporting And Commercial Insight Across Major Infrastructure Projects. Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Supporting the preparation of monthly project financial reports, including forecasts, cost reports, cashflow updates and budget variance analysis
  • Providing financial challenge to project teams, supporting decision-making across cost control, procurement and commercial reporting
  • Overseeing project accounting records to ensure accurate and timely recording of income, expenditure, commitments and accruals
  • Managing month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations and reporting packs for approvals
  • Preparing clear financial analysis and management information for project reviews, governance meetings and senior leadership updates

What are we looking for?

This role of Management Accountant is great for you if:

  • You hold a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), or are at final stage part qualified
  • You have excellent commercial knowledge and demonstrable experience in a construction environment, with project accounting background
  • You possess advanced data analytic and excel skills
  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating with others
  • You're focused on continuous improvement and always looking for ways to enhance processes and reporting
