Interim Management Accountant


Milton Keynes | Interim Contract | Hybrid Working Available


We are partnering with a growing SME based in Milton Keynes to recruit an experienced Interim Management Accountant. This is a hands-on role that will play a key part in supporting the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and assisting with an ongoing finance systems migration.


The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience operating in fast-paced environments and will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to support both operational and strategic finance activities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee transactional finance and financial reporting processes.
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including month-end journals, profit and loss reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and quarter-end reporting.
  • Deliver accurate and timely group reporting in line with standardised reporting requirements.
  • Review interim Corporation Tax instalments and associated payments.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of statutory returns and payments, including VAT, PAYE, PSA, P11D reporting, Confirmation Statements, and Statutory Accounts.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities, including invoice approvals and ensuring efficient cash management processes.
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls, including balance sheet reconciliations, segregation of duties, and approval processes.
  • Support the implementation and migration from Xero to NetSuite, helping to improve finance processes and reporting capabilities.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, analysis, and project support as required.


Candidate Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CA).
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Proven experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Strong background working within SME environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or leading a Xero to NetSuite migration.
  • Strong working knowledge of both Xero and NetSuite.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within a fast-paced environment.
