Role Description
This role exists to ensure the effective planning of production, materials, and supply activities so that customer demand is met on time while maintaining efficient inventory levels and manufacturing performance. The role owns the end-to-end planning process for moulding and assembly operations, balancing capacity, material availability, cost, and inventory to minimise supply risk and support business objectives. Working closely with production, procurement, suppliers, and customers, the role drives continuous improvement, maintains critical planning data, and ensures compliance with quality and operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
Operational Delivery
· Create and maintain production and supply plans to support customer demand and
achieve OTIF targets.
· Monitor material availability and inventory levels to support production.
· Manage supplier schedules: forecasts, purchase orders, and deliveries.
· Support new product introductions and product lifecycle activities.
· Plan transport and distribution activities to meet customer requirements.
· Manage excess and obsolete inventory
Communication & Collaboration
· Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers and build effective relationships with stakeholders
· Communicate supply and service risks to relevant stakeholders.
· Participate in S&OP and other relevant meetings.
Planning & Organisation (Self)
· Organise work to meet deadlines.
· Manage competing priorities effectively.
· Adapt to changing business and customer requirements.
Use of Systems, Tools & Equipment
· Maintain accurate planning master data and system records.
· Use ERP systems to manage planning, inventory, and supplier activities.
· Analyse data and prepare reports to support decision-making.
Escalation & Decision-Making
· Make day-to-day planning and scheduling decisions within agreed guidelines.
· Escalate significant risks and provide recommendations where appropriate
Performance Improvement
· Identify, implement and support continuous improvement projects and problem-solving activities.
