Who We Are

We are Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s national mapping service and a global leader in geospatial data and technology. For over 230 years, our data has helped governments, businesses and communities make better decisions about the world around them.

Join our dynamic Markets team

The Markets team sits at the centre of how Ordnance Survey grows, connecting customer insight, market demand and product capability to ensure we focus on the right opportunities and deliver meaningful outcomes.

As OS continues its transition towards a more commercial and customer-led organisation, Markets plays a critical role in helping the business identify where to invest, which opportunities to prioritise and how we maximise the value of our products and services.

We're strengthening how we assess, validate and scale growth opportunities across our markets. Bringing together market intelligence, customer insight, commercial thinking and operational discipline to ensure we consistently focus on opportunities that create the greatest value for customers and OS.

This is a high-impact role where your decisions and influence will directly shape growth priorities, investment decisions and the future direction of products and services across the organisation.

If you're passionate about turning insight into action and helping shape the future of OS, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

About The Role

As Market Growth Lead, you'll be responsible for ensuring OS translates market insight and product strategy into prioritised, evidence-led growth opportunities that can be delivered at pace.

You'll provide leadership across our Market Operations & Intelligence capability, helping the organisation understand where growth is occurring, which opportunities are delivering value and how successful approaches can be replicated across markets.

You will work closely with our sector experts, Market Development Leads, combining their market expertise with a consistent approach to prioritisation, insight and performance management. Together, you'll help ensure OS focuses on the right opportunities, learns from what delivers the greatest impact and scales successful approaches across our markets.

  • Develop and maintain a consistent framework for evaluating opportunities and tracking performance.
  • Bring together customer, market and sales insight to support evidence-led decision making.
  • Lead the Market Operations & Intelligence team and capability, including Product Operations and Insights.
  • Provide visibility of opportunities across the organisation, helping identify what is working, where value is being created and where intervention may be required.
  • Establish governance and decision-making processes that improve focus, pace and accountability.
  • Work closely with Product, Customer and Market teams to align growth opportunities with product development and organisational priorities.

This role combines commercial strategy, market insight, operational leadership and stakeholder influence. Working across Product, Customer and Markets teams to ensure opportunities are assessed consistently, supported by evidence and aligned to organisational priorities.

You'll be comfortable operating across multiple teams, balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery, and working through others to create alignment and momentum..

  • Strong experience in commercial strategy, market development, growth, product strategy or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience of identifying, assessing and progressing commercial opportunities using evidence, insight and sound judgement.
  • Experience using customer, market and performance data to inform decisions, challenge assumptions and improve outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to assess opportunity viability, trade-offs and investment priorities.
  • Experience working across Product, Customer and commercial functions to align activity around shared goals.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment and make progress in complex environments.
