Master SOV
As Master, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient daily operation of our SOV, M/V Northern Ocean. You will play a key role in delivering the highest standard of service to our customers while leading the crew and acting as an important link between the vessel and our shore-based organisation.
Duties
As Master, you have overall responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel and for the crew and passengers on board. Together with your crew, you will ensure that procedures are followed and continuously developed, while leading and coordinating the work on board.
The role requires strong navigational and manoeuvring skills and the ability to operate safely and efficiently in a variety of conditions. As one of the key representatives of N-O-S on site, you will maintain close contact with our customers and ensure a professional and service-minded operation.
You are responsible for ensuring that the vessel is operated safely and efficiently in accordance with internal procedures, applicable regulations and customer requirements. Within your area of responsibility, you will have a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to how the work on board is planned and carried out.
Your profile
You are a confident and responsible leader with strong decision-making and interpersonal skills. You work well with others, communicate clearly and are comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic operational environment.
You are fluent in English, both spoken and written, and have the ability to build strong relationships with crew, customers and shore-based colleagues. For this position, you are required to be British.
Mandatory certificates: CoC as Master unlimited, Basic Safety, Medical First Aid, Medical Care, GOC, SSO, Advanced Fire Fighting, ECDIS Generic, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, DPO, Unlimited Medical Certificate.
Desirable certificates and documents: ECDIS type Specific – NACOS, Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats, Short Range Radio (CAA approved), ARPA.
