Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Maximo Developer to join the team in Derby. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, customising, integrating, testing, and supporting IBM Maximo environments, with a focus on Maximo 7.6/9.x, Java development, automation scripting, and upgrade remediation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and customise IBM Maximo 7.6/9.x applications and functionality based on business requirements.
- Design and develop Java-based customisations within the Maximo platform.
- Develop and maintain Maximo Automation Scripts using appropriate scripting technologies.
- Perform upgrade remediation activities, identifying and resolving customisation and compatibility issues during Maximo upgrades.
- Design, develop, and maintain Maximo integrations with internal and external systems.
- Analyse technical issues, troubleshoot defects, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Carry out unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution to ensure the quality and stability of Maximo solutions.
- Work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, architects, and other technical teams to deliver Maximo enhancements.
- Review existing Maximo customisations and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for customisations, integrations, and development activities.
- Support deployment and release activities across relevant environments.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Maximo 7.6 and/or Maximo 9.x.
- Proven experience in Maximo customisation and development.
- Strong Java development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Maximo Automation Scripts.
- Experience with Maximo upgrade remediation and resolving issues resulting from platform upgrades.
- Strong experience in Maximo integration development.
- Good understanding of unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
- Experience working with enterprise application environments and development lifecycle processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS).
- Exposure to Maximo integration frameworks and APIs.
- Experience working with databases such as Oracle and/or DB2.
- Knowledge of enterprise application integration patterns and REST/SOAP web services.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
