You will be working in the Building Services Operating Unit that deliver nationwide facilities management, including M&E support, cleaning, catering, and grounds maintenance, using technology for efficient planned and reactive services.

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer based at Fitzroy Place in central London, who will be responsible for maintenance, response, and fault analysis of building operations at this location.

As The Mechanical Engineer, You Will

  • Deliver day-to-day servicing and breakdown maintenance across mechanical infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), planned works, fault diagnosis, and reactive response within agreed service level agreements.
  • Perform fault finding, plant adjustments, inspections, and maintenance tasks in line with contract requirements.
  • Support subcontractor inductions and ensure safe systems of work are in place before work starts.
  • Attend reactive callouts and respond within contractual SLA requirements.
  • Complete reactive and additional works to required engineering standards, in line with HASAWA legislation and Skanska’s Our Way of Working.
  • Maintain accurate daily worksheets, inspection reports, and maintenance records, submitting them on time.

We Are Looking For

  • Mechanical City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualification.
  • BMS experience.
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance and water treatment requirements.
  • IOSH Working Safely qualification, or equivalent Health & Safety certification.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
