Salary is £36,176 - £41,953 per annum plus £5,000 welcome bonus
Full Time- 37.5 Hours

Priory Hospital Ayr Clinic has an opportunity for a Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse to join our team.

Ayr Clinic, Ayr, is a low secure mental health service for males and females with a mental health diagnosis and/or personality disorder. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

You will work effectively as a valued member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, promoting the best interests of clients and their carers while ensuring prescribed nursing care is delivered safely and effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive care environment, exercising professional accountability and responsibility, and using your nursing skills, knowledge and expertise to respond effectively to changing environments. You will work within the scope of your professional practice and maintain high standards of care at all times.

You will be working on the low secure forensic ward working rotational shifts over a two week period.

Day shift and night shift worked in blocks full time shifts:
  • 8am- 8.15pm Days /8pm- 8.15am Nights
  • Week 1 Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Week 2 Wednesday and Thursday

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role
  • Qualified Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience working within a mental health care environment and completion of preceptorship programme.
  • Good understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements and professional standards.
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to change, improvement and delivering high-quality care.
  • Ability to work flexibly and use innovative approaches to care.
