Mobile / Field Based | Power Generation

Location: Cambuslang Glasgow, G32 8FA Monday to Friday (40-hour contract)

Are you a Generator Engineer, Field Service Engineer or Plant Engineer with experience working on diesel engines, generators or power generation equipment?

Speedy Power & Energy is looking for a Mobile Generator Engineer to join our specialist engineering team, maintaining and repairing our power generation equipment at customer sites.

This is a hands-on field engineering role. You'll be out with customers, servicing, diagnosing and repairing generators and associated power equipment, keeping equipment running and getting customers back up and operational when breakdowns happen.

What you'll be doing

  • Service, maintain and repair diesel generators and power generation equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Attend customer breakdowns and get equipment operational as quickly and safely as possible
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance and servicing
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on engines, electrical systems and associated components
  • Ensure equipment is safe, reliable and maintained to the required standard
  • Manage your workload across customer locations
  • Complete service records and engineering documentation
  • Provide a professional, knowledgeable service to customers on site

You don't necessarily need to come directly from the hire industry.

Generator Engineers | Power Generation Engineers | Field Service Engineers | Plant Engineers | Heavy Equipment Engineers | Diesel Engineers | Agricultural Engineers | HGV Engineers | Ex-Forces/REME Engineers

You'll Need

  • Strong mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience servicing, maintaining and fault finding on diesel engines, generators, plant or heavy equipment
  • A good understanding of electrical systems and diagnostics
  • Confidence working independently in a mobile/field-based environment
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good customer communication skills
  • Basic computer skills for completing engineering records
  • A full UK driving licence

Previous generator or power generation experience would be a strong advantage, but we're also interested in Engineers with transferable diesel, plant, heavy equipment or electrical/mechanical experience who want to develop within specialist power generation.
