The role
As a National Commercial Manager, you'll be responsible for identifying, winning and developing new business opportunities, helping customers unlock the benefits of GFS's market-leading technology and delivery solutions.
This is a field-based role focused on the Northwest of England, making it ideally suited to candidates based in Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool or the surrounding areas. You'll spend your time building relationships, creating opportunities and working closely with prospective customers to understand their challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
Working as part of our New Business Sales team, you'll play a key role in driving revenue growth while building a strong pipeline of opportunities across the eCommerce, retail and logistics sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Generate new business opportunities and deliver against sales, revenue and margin targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through prospecting, networking and customer meetings.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to implementation.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and recommend the most appropriate GFS solutions.
- Build lasting relationships with prospective and new customers.
- Maintain accurate sales activity and opportunity records within our CRM system.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline performance, market opportunities and business activity.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Contribute market insight and commercial intelligence to support business growth.
What we are looking for
- Proven success in a consultative B2B sales environment.
- A track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and developing opportunities from prospect to close.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Self-motivated, organised and results driven.
- Experience within the logistics, parcel, carrier or eCommerce sectors (desirable)
- Knowledge of the retail or delivery technology market (desirable)
- Experience developing business within specific sectors or vertical markets (desirable)
