This role provides strategic and operational leadership for all FF&E and medical equipment activities across The New Frimley Park Hospital, The retained estate and Heatherwood Hospital extension.
The post holder will develop and implement the Trust’s equipment strategy, ensuring effective planning, design integration, procurement, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle management. They will work autonomously, interfacing across clinical, operational, estates, digital, and construction teams.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the strategic planning, governance and delivery of all FF&E and medical equipment activity. They will ensure equipment requirements are identified, specified, procured, installed and commissioned in line with clinical, operational, digital and construction needs.
This role includes developing the Trust’s FF&E and medical equipment strategy, establishing governance and assurance arrangements, and working closely with clinical, estates, digital, operational and construction teams to ensure equipment is fully integrated into design and build plans.
The post holder will also oversee procurement planning, stakeholder engagement, technical coordination, installation, operational readiness and lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, financial and programme requirements throughout.

Essential criteria
- Master’s degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant technical / clinical discipline, or demonstration of experience / relevant transferable knowledge from previous roles.
- Evidence of continuing professional and personal development (e.g. training, study, additional courses).
- HCPC Clinical Scientist or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
- Membership of professional bodies (IHEEM, IPEM, IEEE).
Essential criteria
- Proven experience leading complex projects of significant scale.
- Significant experience delivering major capital, construction or healthcare transformation programmes.
- Experience with BIM and information management standards
- Experience in equipment planning, procurement, lifecycle management and operational readiness.
- Experience of working in an NHS project management environment
- Experience of working construction schemes.
- Experience delivering equipping solutions for new hospital builds.
Essential criteria
- Strong knowledge of FF&E and medical equipment standards, including HTMs, ISO standards, MHRA guidance and NHS requirements.
- Strong knowledge of the FF&E & medical equipment industry, project delivery and management, and procurement.
- Understanding of procurement frameworks, supply chains, and relevant standards.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement an effective governance infrastructure.
- Understanding of procurement processes, frameworks, and supply chain.
- Understanding and application of appropriate national and international standards related to information management and BIM.
- Understanding of NHS business case processes and RIBA stages
- Excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills.
- Ability to synthesise and present complex information to diverse audiences
