The NCA are delighted to offer opportunities for Newly Qualified Midwives to join our friendly and supportive Maternity Team. We offer an excellent preceptorship programmes which encompasses the full sphere of midwifery practice - these can include integrated MLC preceptorships with spoke days in inpatient services and preceptorships which include antenatal ward, labour ward, maternity triage and postnatal ward. This post is only for student midwives who will qualify and anticipate gaining entry to the NMC register in/before September 2026.

The newly qualified midwife is responsible for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of clinical care for women, birthing people and babies on the maternity unit. As a newly qualified midwife, you will work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team ensuring effective care is planned and delivered.

As a newly qualified midwife, you will be responsible for undertaking relevant further study as required for the post and complete preceptorship. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism to ensure that the highest standard of care is given to patients in their care.

Provide support and supervision to less experienced practitioners, midwives, nurses and students to the trust standards and competencies and to support colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team.
