Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an O&M (Operations and Maintenance) Engineer at ZLC Energy. The O&M Engineer will oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of renewable energy systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. Daily responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to resolve site problems. The role involves reviewing system performance data, preparing service reports, updating maintenance records, and recommending technical improvements. The O&M Engineer will also support commissioning activities, contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, and provide clear communication to stakeholders on system status and planned works.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical foundation in Electrical Engineering, with experience in renewable energy systems or related power/industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis for electrical and control systems, including interpreting drawings, schematics, and performance data.
  • Hands-on experience with Preventive Maintenance programs, including inspections, testing, and servicing of plant and equipment to maximize uptime.
  • Background in Maintenance Management, including planning, scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining accurate service and asset records.
  • Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide clear written reports.
  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards, including safe systems of work and risk assessments.
  • Comfort working remotely and independently, with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
