The role
You will lead the operational support, maintenance and resilience of high-availability OT platforms across a complex utilities environment. You’ll take ownership of service performance, incident response, maintenance planning and security remediation while developing the capability of the technical teams responsible for these critical systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day-to-day support and operational management of critical OT platforms.
- Overseeing systems such as DMS, SCADA, data historians, telemetry and communications infrastructure.
- Managing major incidents, fault diagnosis, service recovery and root-cause analysis.
- Maintaining operational resilience, availability and continuity across business-critical environments.
- Planning and overseeing OT patching, maintenance and vulnerability-remediation activities.
- Working closely with cyber security, engineering, operations, suppliers and programme stakeholders.
- Managing resource allocation, workforce planning and operational priorities.
- Mapping team capability and addressing technical or resourcing gaps.
- Coaching and developing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Establishing clear service standards, governance, reporting and continuous-improvement practices.
- Communicating operational risks, service performance and remediation plans to senior stakeholders.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong experience leading technical support or service operations within an OT environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of DMS, SCADA, data historians, telemetry or communications systems.
- Proven experience managing incidents and restoring services in high-availability environments.
- A strong understanding of OT patching, vulnerability remediation and controlled maintenance.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing technical teams.
- Excellent stakeholder, supplier and service-management skills.
- The ability to balance operational priorities, cyber risk and service resilience.
- Previous experience within the utilities or energy sector.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role within a large-scale, highly regulated organisation whose infrastructure provides essential services across the UK.
