People Adviser.

Salary: £33,000 per annum dependant on experience.

Location: Remote working from home (must be based in the UK)

Contract: Permanent – 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivating People Adviser on a Permanent contract to provide a quality advisory and guidance service to managers and staff through consistent and effective application of Action for Children’s Human Resources policies, procedures and guidance notes.

This will also include provision of and guidance with the accurate and consistent processing of HR activities onto Action for Children’s People Systems.


How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • You will provide a first point of contact for all staff and managers to answer and respond to information requests and advice on HR policies.
  • Provide quality advice that is functionally consistent and accurate to managers, in response to employee relations matters.
  • Utilise people and other related systems.
  • Retain accurate, concise and clear notes to track cases, ensuring completion of closing procedures for all incident and service requests
  • Adopt a coaching approach, while providing advice and guidance, utilising agreed techniques, e-learning tools and systems.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of incoming/outgoing transfers under TUPE.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, in particular of sensitive HR data.


Let's talk about you

  • Must have CIPD professional qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Ability to build credibility for self and the service by establishing and developing excellent relationships
  • Ability to select, analyse and interpret data.
  • Proven presentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills to drive and support continuous organisational improvement.
  • Working knowledge of key employment law.
  • Demonstrable continued professional development.
